The Plan - Click here to view park renderings!
On March 23rd, 2009, the Villa Park Skatepark Committee and the Parks and Recreation Department presented a proposal to the Village Board to build the skatepark as a community project. The Villa Park Board agreed to the plan and has committed to match, dollar for dollar, all cash donations up to $50,000.00.
Using the same concept as Habitat for Humanity, where the community builds houses, the Villa Park Skatepark Committee is drawing on the community’s resources to build a public skatepark for skateboarders, BMX riders and inline skating. The park will be designed for all ages and abilities, including handicapped. Numerous individuals and businesses have already come forward to donate thousands of dollars in contributions, as well as, materials and services, but we still need more help. The attached PDF file contains a list of the services and materials that we are still in need of.

The new skatepark location is on the campus of the Village's Iowa Community Center, (ICC). This site was selected because of the proximity to the community center, the lack of residences surrounding the area and the high visibility from the adjacent streets. These factors will help stimulate interest in the park and enhance supervision thereby reducing vandalism.
There are plans for Amenities such as: a water fountain, bleachers, security cameras, gargabe cans and landscaping.
